Since Covid, we had a large carnival tent that shaded and gave warmth to our patio loving guests. This was great! Except it was not a permanent solution. We needed something new. Here are a couple of our ideas we had that led us to what we really wanted:
Lots of umbrellas? Umbrellas are useful, but they don’t shade every single table. One guest might be drowning in the sun, while the other guest might be cold in the shade. As the sun moves, so does the shade.
A large awning? Maybe retractable? These are cool, but I was getting Palm Spring vibes. We needed something more “Italian-nesque” if you will.
Let’s cover it permanently? Nope, we’d be alienating our guests love for eating outdoors in the warm California sunshine.
Meet the winner…we installed a permanent structure that contains louvers! With the switch of a button, we can turn the louvers against the sun creating an outdoors atmosphere covered by shade. We can have them fully open or fully closed for maximum shade. Not to mention, when they do close, rain cannot get through. The opportunities to put more smiles on the faces of our guests lives on.
