It’s a humbling feeling to think we have been doing this for 31 years. This would not be possible without the hard work and care of our incredible team! We appreciate their continual support in our endeavor to serve quality food by hospitable people.
Here are our top milestones that we feel molded Gaetano’s into what we are today:
1995: After many long dinner debates, my parents decided to transform the Deli into a Restaurant. Yes, we opened as a Deli. Check out our phone number, 310-326-3354. The last four digits spell, “Deli”. Seeing that there was a need for an Italian Restaurant in the area, they transformed it into a restaurant.
1998: Our Mom, Dori, brought on a catering menu. It was simple. Just take our beloved food and make it larger into catering style. A birthday party of 20 would serve 19 people that had never heard about us. After enjoying the food, most came into the restaurant to try us out. This might even be how you discovered us!
2000: Gaetano’s had always had a beer and wine license. As the millennium hit, the restaurant brought on a full liquor license. Wine, Beer and COCKTAILS were now being served.
2004: We moved locations from where Robek’s and Éclair & Cafe are now, to our location that you visit us at today. We were happy about the move because we were able to design the restaurant fresh into what we wanted it to be. The previous place always felt like a Deli. Now, we were a full-service restaurant.
2008: Prior to 2008, all of our dishes came with a soup or a salad. As the housing economy collapsed, we decided to take off the soup or salad and lower our prices. This made it more affordable to enjoy our food. Business stayed afloat and we lived to serve another day.
2012: Our patio was not really a patio. It was more of a shopping center common space that patrons would come from all over to hang out. In 2012, we transformed this into an enclosed patio. This brought a whole different dimension to our atmosphere that guests loved and still enjoy today!
2020: Covid closed our restaurant indoors. We then decided it was a great time to have a makeover! The flooring, the booths, the bar….we remodeled the restaurant into what you see today.
2024: We built a semi-enclosed patio. When it rains, no problem, you won’t get wet. When it’s cold, we have heaters installed above so it’s nice and cozy to dine. It’s a beautiful new structure that you’ll have to see soon.
What does the future hold for Gaetano’s? One theme runs true…We are never satisfied with the status quo. We are dedicated to always making our food, service and restaurant better. We think this is the secret sauce to being around for 31 years and will continue this motto for years to come. Hope to see you soon!
